Blue Collar Coaching - Help when you need it

Through out life, we often focus on the things that don’t or didn’t work. And we continue to do that which doesn’t work or will not work.

We become trained in this negative conversation, and it becomes habitualized - when we surround ourselves with people who have the same views.

Subconsciously, we chain ourselves down and hold on to negative results and negative thought patterns we have created – as if they were gold.

On a deeper level it becomes an addiction – the negative thought patterns, the doubts, the low self-esteem, the pessimism – thus, we manifest in our lives that which is a subliminal prophecy.

The payoff? We get to be right. We get sympathy. We get to be victims. Blaming all others. We get to sit back and react to circumstances. No creative ownership. No responsibility.

Having a support system is imperative to success in whatever you do. Surround yourself with people that will help you constantly plant positive and empowering thoughts in your head and eventually in your subliminal vault.

Most of all ask yourself if the information that is registering in your head is factual OR a belief. A negative belief you might have about yourself. A belief that has been formed because of the opinions of others.

When you become clear of this distinction it can help free you from negative thoughts and conserve your energy for more important things!

So true, yet so challenging to do sometimes. These beliefs can be so ingrained that they actually "feel" like facts. One thing that is clear - the human brain lies. In the onslaught of these negative beliefs, it starts to re-wire itself and it will begin to actually lie to itself! The good news is that a person can actually begin to undue its rewiring. It's roughly related to something called neuroplasticity.

A great reminder, though, Bruce.

Good points Bruce.

One of the most powerful and effective roles a coach can play is to help a client see and focus on the positives that are going on all around them ( no matter how bad it may seem ).

The second step is for the coach to help you distinguish between the facts and your feeling and beliefs. Because, how you feel about something, what you believe about something can change, no matter what the facts are and positive growth will follow.

Thanks
