Making the best of 2009
As we pursue happiness we often don't realize how much we resist our own path. We need to trust our circumstances and stay open to what life is giving us. David Richo has a great passage in his book "The Five Things We Cannot Change and the Happiness We Find by Embracing Them"
'Hamlet speaks of "the thousand natural shocks that flesh is heir to," a poetic definition of the givens of life. When something happens to us that echos with the painful thud of any of the unalterable conditions of existence, we can ask, "What can we learn here? How does this serve?" We can learn to trust the givens of life as having transformative or evolutionary potential. We can trust that the laws of existence somehow help us to achieve our destiny.'
As you travel through 2009 appreciate your circumstances and it will be the most blissful journey you have had yet!!!
